"There are certain places in the world that will change the way you look at things forever."
Pete Whitaker, "Interventional Artist"

The Healers Path weeklong residential workshop is held in Lightkeeper's Guest House on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina.

The Lightkeeper's Guest House is located halfway between the Ocracoke Light and Silver Lake Harbor. Structured class time and meals occur on the large screened porches. Many quiet outdoor and indoor areas are available for writing and reading. The Lightkeeper's Guest House is a smoke free facility.

Early registrants may choose a discounted housing option at the Lightkeeper's Guest House, but space in the Guest House is limited. There are multiple options for other housing arrangements nearby.

Ocracoke is a barrier island, the southern most in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Of its 16 mile length, only 700 acres of village around Silver Lake Harbor are developed. The rest of the island is in the national park without permanent structures. Ocracoke has been described as the "jewel of the Outer Banks" and is consistently listed among the top 10 beaches in the United States (named number two in 2005).

Ocracoke is an island in the truest sense of the term. There are no bridges to Ocracoke. Three ferry routes serve the island-2 cross Pamilco Sound and link to mainland North Carolina 23 miles to the west. The other ferry route crosses Hatteras Inlet docking in Hatteras Village. The island also has a small airstrip near the village for access by air.

It is home to the oldest lighthouse on the Outer Banks. The former hideout of Blackbeard the Pirate, the village of Ocracoke nestles on the soundside of the island. While lacking national chain franchises, golf courses, and go-cart tracks, there are plenty of shops, excellent restaurants, dolphins in the surf, and birds in the marshes. Bicycles and walking are the best way to tour the historic sights of the village.

Come and watch the sun rise from the ocean and set in the sound while relaxing in this unique setting.
