The Healers Path is offering a weeklong residential workshop for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physicians, and nurses who wish to re-evaluate their identity as health care professionals and their passion for their work in medicine.
We will examine the causes of professional burnout and techniques for recovering the call to heal.
Sometimes called compassion fatigue, burnout is common in people who work closely with other people, who have high levels of responsibility, and who have high levels of commitment.
We will examine the stresses of working in the medical field in the 21st Century. Participants will learn what leads to burnout, its symptoms, and steps to overcome it now and to avoid it in the future. We will discuss how to use the holistic MindBodySpirit approach to achieve balance in their personal and professional lives. Through lecture, exercises, and peer support, each participant will re-evaluate their work as healers.
Topics include: The Hero's Journey-how the epic story is reflected in all our lives; Burnout and Stresses of the System; MindBodySpirit Stress Reduction Techniques; Dealing with Pressures of the Workplace, the Work and the Patients; Creating a System of Support; How to Take It Home and Make It Work for the Future.
